While shopping with my husband in a lovely antique store, he purchased this tatted collar. It was rather expensive, but he new it would find a place in my collection. Hope you enjoy seeing pieces of my collection. This is find # 2 on my trip with my husband, I purchased this lovely child's collar. The dealer told me it came from Germany.

I found this in storage with some linens. I was told it was from the late 1800's. I added to my collection of unique tatting. My lovely husband bought it. I wanted the history to live on..........I do not sewing hardly at all, however this bonnet inspired me. I looked at it long and hard and cut a pattern and you guessed it......I attempted my hand at making it. I believe that I shocked not only my husband, but me. The bonnet below was hand made by me, my version! I gave it to my granddaughter. My grandmother Susie Landrum is smiling down from heaven in amazement, that the love of tatting is living on to her great-great grandchild. A brief picture of Emma in it was priceless to my husband and I. I purchased this tatted purse in New Mexico on the trip back from Colorado. I found it in a antique store on Route 66, the owner told me that this is from the era "1905". It found a home in my collection. Wow! I believe this to be over 100 years old......I love to collect tatting from the past that is unique and different. THIS IS NOT TATTING! I purchased it to save the history. This was part of someone's collection of " Temperance Movement " items. This is very old and unique handmade lace. I thought I would show something that is not seen very often. If you do not know anything about this movement, please read up on it. Updated: The gold shuttle marked ALLCO in my collection is made by " A. L. Lindroth Company." ALLCO is the trademark for A. L. Lindroth, the company was in business from 1896 to 1937 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. ALLCO also made jewelry that is still around today.
Someone is the proud owner of this shuttle. It caught my eye, because the triangle enclosed with the letter H is not in Tatting Shuttles of American Collectors book by Heidi Nakayama. It's a great shuttle take note of the maker of this shuttle from the person who listed it on e-bay.
Lots of changes in the past few months.. My oldest son Jeremy and Daughter-In-Law Brittany had our first Grandchild "EMMA ELIZABETH" in March. Mike and I are thrilled to be grandparents!!! My youngest son Jason got married to "Caitlyn Bass" in May. It was a beautiful wedding, I hope to post pictures soon. The wedding was vintage, burlap & lace, "Texas" style barn wedding. My mother made a quilt that resembled the barn. Guests signed small cloth hay bales and attached to the quilt as guest attendance. Pictures to come soon, they used the tatted tablecloth that I used in my wedding. I was overjoyed that they used the tablecloth in a second generation wedding, my Grandmother would have been thrilled! The tatted blanket & booties were tatted by Emma's Great-Great Grandmother, Susie Landrum. Jeremy was also taken home from the hospital in this blanket. I hope it will be a family heirloom for years to come.
