This picture is of a rare enameled necklace. While on Vacation with my mother, I spotted this in a antique store. I was drawn to it, because of the enamel. However, I left the store with my shuttle winder, not knowing my mother purchase it. My mother gave it to me as a Christmas present in 2014. I was told that the owner of this necklace had a great collection, to own a piece of her collection was a great honor. The owner of it sold her collection as she was moving back east. The necklace has found a home among my other collection of enameled items.

I am hoping that someone has information on Silas Scholfield Born (1815-1889) in the Boston area. Silas made jewelry outside Boston. In my reading, I realized that many of the shuttle makers were from around that area. His Patent was granted in 1867. "Lady's Tatting Shuttle" consisted of holder and crank for winding. Pictures of it are archived from November 2013 post. I am not sure if any went into production. Maybe someone has information on it that studies patented items? Any information you may have would be appreciated in helping keep the history alive.
Thought I would post something different. This is a lovely mother of pearl thread winder, it found a home in my collection of mother of pearl shuttles.
Does anyone have any information on Mr. Karl Decker shuttle maker from Camas, Washington? He died in 1976, but Nancy and her sister acquired his collections of shuttles that he made and sold. I am wanting to know if anyone has one of his shuttles or any information on his shuttle making.
