This item recently sold on E-bay, it's in great condition for it's age. The gift box came with a little poem about tatting and included a nice shuttle. This shuttle was made by Inlaid Company of Providence, Rhode Island. It was sold in a catalogue. Carl Vilhelm Pohlson was a dealer in fine photography and picture frames and he established Pohlson's Galleries and Pohlson's House of Gifts on Pawtucket, RI in 1845. The gallery/gift shop carried various items. It appears that Pohlson's House of Gifts may have gone out business in the late 1930's. The above picture shows little blue sparrow was often on other items they sold in their catalogue.

This item was listed by the seller as a " Rare Vintage Sewing Bobbin Ring." The seller reported that it is made of brass and etched in a beautiful floral pattern. The top part spins and will hold your bobbin. It was produced by Crane Products Inc., with copy right hallmark on the bottom of the ring. Also hallmark Pat Pend While doing some research, I stumbled across this item which sold for $124. This ring is called the " Evenit" and was made in Ardsley New, York and sold for $1.00 made for knitting and crocheting. Please see below the steps of how to thread the ring. Tensioning Ring Patent US 1200530A Harry Samuels of Des Moines, Iowa applied for patent on June 16, 1915 and was approved on October 1916. Tatting type: subclass 87/52 This shows that the patent was for tatting tensioning ring. Wow! I found this thought I would share it would my readers. This is a nice piece of history for anyone looking to add this to his/ her collection. I thought it was very neat, however it has a nice price tag!
